Bastian Bux

Bastian Bux is the consequence of reducing everything surrounding a DJ and producer to its essential element: the music. That is the intention of ‘Bux’: be stripped of all artifice and be judged by his work. Pieces full of deep textures, powerful harmonies, heavy beats and fat basslines; where everything is assembled with soul and sensibility, with the mastery of a craftsman and surgeon's precision.

His debut came with his ‘Stay’ EP on Suara, where four timeless tracks laid the foundations of what Bastian Bux means today: deep and emotional techno, dark house, and high class electronica. Such was the success of the debut that, a few months later, he repeated on Coyu's imprint with the amazing EPs ‘Somia’, ‘Sons of Suburbs’, ‘Touch Your Ghost’, ‘Lights’ (that included remixes from the Dutch techno veteran Steve Rachmad, as well as Fur Coat), ‘Teardrop’, ‘Screenshot’, ‘Tresor’, ‘Oracle’ and including collaboration with the label boss himself for their ‘Serendib’. Bastian continues to crank up the level of his productions taking his first steps into remixing by reworking Habischmann’s ‘All I Dream’ on Dave Seaman’s Selador label, as well as releasing on Nicole Moudaber’s esteemed label MOOD Records. He has since released on dance legend John Digweed’s highly acclaimed Bedrock Records with Lee Van Dowski - ‘Nine Lives’ EP. Within a short time, Bastian has seen his work supported by most of the underground’s heavyweights and his profile has risen accordingly.

In front of a crowd, Bastian is able to travel elegantly from housy grooves to rough techno, going through epic melodies and sober beats, always loyal to his way of understanding music but without losing sight of the dancefloor. That ability has earned him the status as a new resident for elrow –he was by the way one of the mixers for ‘elrow Vol.2’ compilation alongside Sante, Sidney Charles and Mario Biani- one of the most important brands in Europe, based in Barcelona and Ibiza, and has seen him tour the globe including standout shows such as elrow London. Featuring regularly at Space Ibiza as part of his elrow residency, Bastian also performed at the historical Space Closing Fiesta. In 2017 Bastian then took his signature sound to Amnesia Ibiza as part of again his always remarkable elrow residency. Other notable shows in recent months include performances at The Warehouse Project, ADE, Hideout Festival, Tomorrowland, add to all that a performance in New York city for Mixmag, and supporting electronic icon Jean-Michele Jarre live in concert, as well as featuring at various venues and festivals across Europe, the Middle East, America, Asia and Oceania, proving that 2018 and beyond certainly looks bright for this new, up and coming techno wonder-kid.
